Mining

For mining and mineral processing companies the management, use and protection of water remain key corporate goals. Each year water becomes a more critical issue for the sector as the demand for water rises globally, driven by population growth, industrial development, and the rising needs from agriculture.

Regulatory pressures continue to mount even in areas where water management has traditionally been less rigid. Companies are being driven to adopt best practices and develop sustainable water management strategies to ensure that they can thrive in the future.

More than ever the industry requires quality containment, treatment and storage tank capacity that must resist the highly abrasive nature of the contents and the corrosive environments present within mining and mineral processing processes.

Process water and effluent treatment can be carried out in PERMASTORE® Tanks in most applications which can include mining for gold, silver, coal, copper, diamonds, iron ore, cobalt, nickel, platinum, potash, rare earth metals, uranium, zinc and many other minerals.

PERMASTORE® Glass-Fused-to-Steel (GFtS) Tanks are ideal for use in these applications. PERMASTORE® Tanks are suited for harsh environments where performance and dependability are vital characteristic. Permastore’s FUSION® family of products can withstand the extreme environments and are designed for use in these remote locations with the modular design principle of the tank kits offering ease of transport to site.

The modular, bolted, nature of Permastore tanks allow them to be built safely and very quickly when compared to alternative build solutions that require heavy plant and equipment on site that take longer to complete. The design also allows existing tanks to be unbolted and dismantled before being moved on to new locations when required, which can significantly increase the life and value of the asset.
