Permastore’s newly appointed industrial Distributor in Bulgaria, Pro Stream, successfully secured and installed a landmark first project in the highly prized Smolyan Lakes area of Bulgaria.
The Smolyan Lakes are found close to the town of Smolyan which is located in the Cherna River valley approximately 150 miles from the capital city Sofia. The lakes themselves snake through the valley making Smolyan not only the highest but also the longest town in all of Bulgaria.
The project came to life as the popularity of the ski resort close to the lakes increased. The local water authorities found the heightened demand for drinking water difficult to manage with the more conventional option of piping water to the area impractical due to the low temperatures and inaccessibility during the winter months.
Pro Stream is based in Sofia and work throughout Bulgaria in the potable water and wastewater sectors, utilising the company’s strong Engineering skill set and well established links to the Bulgarian water authorities.
A PERMASTORE® Glass-Fused-to-Steel drinking water tank was the best technical and practical solution. The flat pack nature of the PERMASTORE® bolted Glass-Fused-to-Steel panels allowed for easy access on mountain roads while the DWI approved PERMASTORE® product fitted all necessary requirements for the Bulgarian drinking water sector.
This high profile reference project gives Permastore and Pro Stream a platform in Bulgaria which can be used to further exploit the Glass-Fused-to-Steel solution in the region.
